4:30 Michael Knoblauch
Sieve tube structure and its impact on long distance transport

5:00 John Ward
Investigating the substrate specificity of proton-coupled sucrose uptake transporters (SUTs)

5:30 Christina Kühn
Protein-protein interactions of plant sucrose transporters: a potential role of a raft-associated

6:00 Mechthild Tegeder
Nitrogen assimilate partitioning in plants

This session considers the global distribution of photoassimilates in multicellular plants. Topics include transgenic manipulation of flux between photosynthetic tissue and import-dependent organs, structure/ function analysis of the vascular tissue and key transport proteins, and the transport of photoassimilated nitrogen as amino acids.
